One of the most common questions we hear is: “Which treatment is best for my skin?” Sometimes, the answer isn’t just one treatment. Skin ageing happens at different depths, which means laxity, texture, firmness and skin quality may each need to be approached differently.
At The Verve Lounge Brisbane, located in Ascot, we build our treatment planning around this principle. Rather than relying on one modality to do all the work, we assess the skin as a whole and determine which concerns need support, before selecting the most appropriate technology or combination of technologies over time.
Why One Treatment Rarely Addresses Every Concern
Skin concerns such as laxity, textural irregularity, dullness and loss of firmness can originate at different depths — from the outer layers of the skin through to the dermis and deeper structural tissues. A treatment designed to work at one depth is not necessarily designed to work at another. This is why a single technology, even one that performs well for its intended purpose, may not address a concern that sits in a different layer of the skin.
Understanding this is part of why we approach treatment planning as a layered process rather than a search for one solution.
Different Technologies, Different Layers
Each technology we offer generally supports a different aspect of skin health. Rather than a fixed sequence everyone follows, your skin is assessed first, and the appropriate technologies are then selected around what it needs:

Different technologies support different aspects of skin health. Your personalised treatment plan may include one or more modalities, carefully selected and sequenced according to your skin, goals and recovery requirements.
Simplified educational guide. Treatment effects, depths and suitability vary according to technology, settings and individual treatment protocols.
This is why treatments such as HIFU, Morpheus8, Forma RF, Medical Grade Skin Needling and Exosome Therapy / PDRN should not necessarily be viewed as competing technologies. They can perform different roles within a personalised treatment strategy. Exosome Therapy / PDRN, for example, may be incorporated into selected protocols to support skin quality and the post-treatment recovery environment.
Individually, each of these technologies has a different primary role. When appropriately combined and sequenced, they may address multiple aspects of a client’s skin concerns from skin quality and texture through to collagen support and deeper structural firmness.
What Could a Combination Approach Look Like?
A client concerned about a softening jawline, mild skin laxity and uneven texture may have several concerns occurring at different levels. Depending on their assessment, a treatment plan may, for example, incorporate HIFU to support deeper structural concerns, Morpheus8 for collagen remodelling and texture, and Forma RF to further support skin firmness and ongoing maintenance. Regenerative therapies such as Exosomes or PDRN may also be incorporated into selected protocols to support the skin’s recovery environment.
This is only an example. Treatment selection, order and timing are individually assessed.
How a Combination Plan Is Built at The Verve Lounge
Every plan begins with an assessment of the skin’s condition, the client’s concerns and their treatment history. We do not apply the same fixed combination to every client. In some cases, a single technology is sufficient; in others, we may sequence two or more treatments depending on which layers of the skin need the most support and how the client’s skin responds over time.
This is also why treatment plans are reviewed and adjusted as they progress, rather than mapped out once and left unchanged.
Combination treatment planning sits naturally within The Verve Skin Longevity philosophy. Rather than repeatedly treating one visible concern in isolation, we consider the skin’s structure, quality, recovery and longer-term needs as part of one evolving strategy.
Why Sequencing and Timing Matter
When more than one treatment is recommended, the order and spacing are considered as carefully as the treatments themselves. Sequencing depends on the technologies selected, the client’s skin condition, recovery requirements and overall goals. Allowing appropriate time for the skin to recover and respond between procedures is an important part of building a considered, personalised treatment plan.
More Treatments Isn’t Automatically Better
A combination approach is not about incorporating as many treatments as possible. For suitable clients, a carefully sequenced combination plan may address different layers and concerns more comprehensively than relying on one modality alone, but this depends on individual assessment rather than being assumed for every client. Adding treatments without a clear clinical reason can increase downtime and recovery demands without necessarily improving the outcome, which is why every recommendation is based on what the skin needs rather than what is available.
At The Verve Lounge, combination therapy does not mean “more treatments.” It means the right treatments, in the right order, at the right time.
Who Might Consider a Combination Approach
A combination plan may be considered for clients who:
• Have concerns that involve more than one layer of the skin, such as both surface texture and deeper laxity
• Want a longer-term skin health strategy rather than a single corrective treatment
• Have previously had one treatment and are looking to build on those results
• Are working toward a specific timeline, such as an event, and want a personalised sequence of treatments
Suitability is assessed individually, and not every client requires or is recommended a combination approach.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does combining treatments mean more downtime?
It depends on which treatments are combined and how they are sequenced. Your practitioner will explain what to expect from each stage of the plan, and treatments are generally spaced to allow the skin to recover appropriately between sessions.
2. How do you decide which treatments to combine?
This is based on an individual assessment of your skin, your concerns, your treatment history and your goals. There is no fixed combination that applies to every client.
3. Is a combination plan more expensive than a single treatment?
A plan involving more than one treatment generally represents a greater investment than a single treatment, though costs vary depending on which technologies and how many sessions are recommended. This is discussed in detail during your consultation.
4. Can I start with one treatment and add others later?
Yes. Many clients begin with a single treatment and expand their plan over time as their skin responds and their goals evolve. Your practitioner can reassess your skin at any stage.
5. Is a combination approach suitable for sensitive skin?
It may be, depending on the underlying cause of the sensitivity and how the skin has responded to treatment in the past. This is assessed individually, and the plan may focus more heavily on gentler, supportive treatments where appropriate.
6. How soon will I see results from a combination plan?
This varies depending on the treatments involved, the concern being addressed and the individual client. Because several of these treatments work by stimulating the skin’s own collagen remodelling process, results generally develop gradually rather than immediately.
7. Do combination treatments have to be performed on the same day?
No. A combination treatment plan does not necessarily mean treatments are performed together. Depending on the technologies involved, treatments may be carefully sequenced weeks or months apart to allow appropriate recovery and response between sessions.
8. Can a combination plan change over time?
Yes. Skin changes as it responds to treatment, which is why we reassess progress rather than automatically following a fixed sequence. A treatment that was appropriate at the beginning of your journey may not be what your skin needs six months later.
